Ebook About When adventurer Jason Lewis regained consciousness beside a busy Colorado highway, lower limbs shattered by a hit-and-run driver, he knew he was lucky to be alive. But would he ever walk again, let alone finish crossing North America by inline skates? So begins part two of The Expedition, a stirring saga of hope, determination, and the kindness of strangers as Jason, taken in by the people of Pueblo, spent nine months in rehabilitation, legs pieced together with metal rods, before returning to the spot he was run over and continuing on.Inspired by the journey, others sought to join, including a middle-aged mother-cum-schoolteacher yearning to see the world. For the expedition wasn’t just a line on a map. The real expedition was the seed buried deep in the heart of anyone who has ever dreamed of knowing what lies beyond their valley, and of embarking upon a grand adventure to find out…Book The Seed Buried Deep: True Story of the First Human-Powered Circumnavigation of the Earth (The Expedition Book 2) Review :
I live in Pueblo, CO, where Jason Lewis was hit and left on the shoulder of I-25. I feel I should apologize to Jason for this inhumane disregard for his life. Luckily, Parkview Hospital and its staff were able to put him back together and he was able to continue his round-th-the-world person-powered quest. And decided to settle in this area.Jason's books are written as if the reader and he were sharing a beer at the local pub. Well worth reading for anyone with a sense of adventure, a sense of humor and a strong stomach. It's amazing what you can do if you just decide to do it, plan well and have good friends and strangers to help out along the way. His en-route video chats with classrooms add depth to his adventure. Just finished the second book in The Expedition trilogy titled The Seed Buried Deep, by Jason Lewis. Jason has that rare talent that all good story-tellers have in that he takes you on the journey with him. Thus continues the "Expedition" of survival, successes and failures, make shift repairs, lost loves, life and death situations, being responsible for his crew mates and concerned parents, and searching for that moment of self awareness/reflection that has its own agenda. Your beer will blow out your nose from the humor Jason continues to deliver in that wonderous British style."He who flies highest sees the farthest" and "only that which is essential is seen through the heart". Two quotes from Jonathan Livingston Seagul and The Little Prince that describe the polarity of this adventure. I can't wait for the third and final chapter in this sojourn of love and strength that is so rare and uplifting to us all. This man is welcome at my campfire any time.
